Hi Peter and Fiona,

We had a very successful championship weekend, 6 arenas both days, good weather and plenty happy competitors

We allocated the 18 bags to each of our 18 champions for the weekend—which was very well received by all winners.

Thank you once again for sponsoring our day, I am sure your generosity  to our club has turned into sales

Dear Pryde’s,

The team at Patanga Park Performance Horses would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank you for your sponsorship of the recent Euroa Showjumping Championships. Without generous sponsors such as yourselves these fantastic events would not exist.

James Harvey and myself Bronwyn Harvey were lucky enough to win and place in several classes over the weekend and take home significant prizes and cash.

We have been using Pryde’s feeds here at Patanga Park on our own and clients horses for many years and are very happy with the product.

It is always great to see a familiar brand out and about in the competition arena.

Thank you again, kind regards,

James & Bronwyn Harvey

MOVE OVER DAD .... I'M ON MY WAY!!

Sometimes we witness a history making moment and it is only on reflection that we realise how noteworthy the event was. It was at the recent Ridgelands Campdraft that such an event happened. This was the first occasion that Pete Comiskey, the holder of 18 Open Rider titles in the Australian Campdrafting Association was beaten for first place by his son Clayton. Clayton has been riding with great success in the ACA Juvenile competition, earning 3rd place during the last 12 months while widening his competition to include rides in the Maiden and Novice events.

clayton 1

Clayton Comiskey, son of Pete Comiskey of Westpoint Station, Nebo and Lexi Comiskey of The Willows won the Maiden Draft on his horse Larry. In the Juvenile Draft on the same week-end, Clayton also earned a 1st on Emma and an equal 2nd on Larry. In March 2011, Clayton become the proud owner of the 12 year old gelding Larry. Larry is a grandson of Spinifex.

Clayton has camp drafting in his blood with both grandfathers, Peter Comiskey (Snr) and Graeme McKenzie, being camp drafters who have accomplished great success while competing in the sport.

Graeme has earned the title of ACA Champion Open Rider on at least 3 occasions. Clayton's Dad, Pete, is the most decorated camp draft rider in Australia and it is with much pride and enthusiasm that he guides Clayton in the sport and no one was more pleased with Clayton's win than his Dad. Mum, Lexi, has recently returned to competition and is one of Clayton's biggest fans as is his brother, Justin.

Clayton has recently left school for a life on the land which includes daily time in the saddle. Horses and camp drafting are undoubtedly high priorities on his list for work and sport.

It was with pride and excitement that family and friends including grandparents from both sides of Clayton's family watched and cheered for his success on the week-end but particularly in the final of the maiden draft when all realized - history was in the making.

Father and son, legend and protege, the contest has begun. The sport of camp drafting can only benefit from the unfolding of this chapter of history.

Pryde's EasiFeed have forged an alliance with Chris and Sharon Lang at Aldebaran Park

www.aldebaranpark.com

“Aldebaran Park has engaged and appointed Pryde’s EasiFeed as its preferred supplier of feed and products to support the nutritional and health needs of our mares, foals and agisting racehorses.

Whilst many a horse may look sensational on the outside with plentiful feed, there is a science behind having the outside reflect the inner balanced health of the horse..........strong bone, ligament and tendon, healthy feet and a glowing coat combined with inner health comes from a truly balanced diet. Pryde’s Easifeed supplies the ingredients along with a balanced scientific program to achieve the results Aldebaran Park is looking for in its “Commitment to Quality”

This is an exciting partnership for Aldebaran Park and we have no doubt the benefits will be reflected in the performance of our future and current champions”..

The Nebo Bushman’s Carnival Cutting Committee would like to thank you for your generous support of the annual Leighton Contractors Nebo Cutting Show which was held on the 26th - 28th August. The event was a huge success with 275 entries requiring around 850 head of cattle, and many spectators. An event of this size can only be run with the help of our generous sponsors, so I write to thank you for your support of this successful event.

Calaza Park & Pryde's EasiFeed South East QLD Junior Rider's Showjumping Series
Thursday, 01 September 2011

The Calaza Park Pryde’s EasiFeed Junior Rider’s Showjumping Series rewards a horse and a rider combination for not just winning a class judged on speed, but instead jumping clean. This encourages the young riders to slow down and use their head in order to produce a nice round and be guaranteed points. This was proven in Kirstie Ansell’s case, the series Champion of 2011.

'Django of Cacheral' has taken out the Grand Prix Test
Friday, 26 August 2011

From all the Pryde’s team, we would sincerely like to acknowledge and congratulate ‘Django of Cacheral’ and his rider, Jeremy Janjic, on their sensational achievements with taking out the Grandprix test recently. This massive achievement was in front of a very supportive crowd at the Alexander Park Dressage Club on Saturday 31st July. This event not occurring merely by chance, but by the momentous effort and persistence put in by all concerned, especially Jeremy. This win is quiet significant to Jeremy, in particular, as he has ridden Django ever since he was broken in by him as a young colt at North Kaludah and ironically was Jeremy’s first Grand Prix test.

Gayle Hearn, Wind of Change and EasiFeed Four Old Timer
Tuesday, 28 June 2011

Article provided by the Townsville Bulletin

Old timer going strong

JOHN ANDERSEN | June 28th, 2011

IT'S time to stop horsin' around and to meet Hughenden old timer Wind of Change. That's his owner Gayle Hearn from Hughenden giving Windy a bit of TLC outside the old stable, that incidentally, should be heritage listed.

The old feller is 36 years young in horse years which translates to 100.5 years in human age. Gayle says that Windy has 'been there, done that worn, out the horse rug'. He was a better than handy race horse 'in the south' in his day, but when his last race was run he happened to turn up on her doorstep, so to speak. One day a car towing a float pulled up in front of her house and a man came to the door. "I've got a race horse out there for the boy if you want it," he said to Gayle when she answered the knock.

"I went out and had a look at the horse. He was nice looking horse and he had a beautiful action," she said. Gayle's son Brett, "the boy", ended up riding Windy in pony club and he travelled all over Queensland with him competing in show jumping and one day events. Windy's been retired since he was 18 and so has had plenty of time to reflect on a life well lived. "Every time I put a rug on him in winter he gets excited because he thinks he's off to a show," she said.

Dr Bruce Potts at the Townsville Veterinary Clinic said that just like human, horses are now living to older ages due to better health care and nutrition.

Windy is a mere teenager to a pony Gayle has in the same paddock. Sheena, as cheeky as they come, is 42 which makes her 126 in human years.

And here's a tip for anyone with an old horse that might have lost its teeth as well as a few other bits and pieces. Gayle feeds them on a mix called Feed for Old Timers. "Before someone put me on to this I thought I'd lost Wind of Change a dozen times. He was plaiting his hind legs.

"I thought I'd have to put him down. Once I started him on Old Timers he was a new horse. He'd take off galloping down the paddock. I'd worry about him, he'd be going so fast."

Southern Queensland Reining
Monday, 06 June 2011

To Pryde’s,

On behalf of the Southern Queensland Reining I would like to say a HUGE thank you for your sponsorship of feed in Pacific Coast Spectacular we held at Gatton in May. You also sponsored the weekends State Show up here Thank You very much.

I see Pryde’s in most stables at shows up here mostly the EasiResult, which is great!

We also had a fundraiser for a family at Grantham that lost every thing including their 2 horses up here in the floods. We raised $1500 for them! We gave the funds by vouchers to be spent at the 2 local feed stores on Pryde’s products [they have 2 new horses, which were also donated], so they will have plenty of feed for a while.

Thanks again so much and to Ron Major who has been great with banners logos etc and willing to help with any questions on feeding, products etc but a BIG THANK YOU from us all.

Regards

Denise Bradbury

Wallaby Hill Horse Trails Inaugural One Day Event, January 2011
Friday, 11 February 2011

Hello,

Thank you so much for your support - it is truly wonderful to have people like you and a company like Pryde’s in the sport.

We gave out the samples to nearly every place getter and the scoops and the hats and Sam Fasher, Aaron Moyes and Sandy Lucas won the feed - and were very appreciative.

I was riding in a clinic this week and got comments about how good my horses looked, and I was teaching some XC on Friday and took one of my horses along and again got more comments so did some more plugging.

Well Takeover Target (aka Archie) is enjoying his retirement at Toofrook.  He is still being cared for as the King he is and looks wonderful.

Pryde's horse feed manufacturers have generously offered to sponsor the feed for Archies retirement (since it is the best feed on the market and I was feeding it to him anyway!)....
