Frequently Asked Questions
Pryde’s EasiFeed recently announced we are changing our 25 kg feed bag size to 20 kg. This is to align with the rest of our 20 kg bags as a standard across our range. To explain why we are making this change we’ve answered some common questions our customers and retail partners might have:
1. Why are you reducing the size of your bag to 20 kg?
Based on feedback and consultation with our customers, retail stores, equine industry staff and end-users, we made the decision to provide our product in a reduced bag size for a number of reasons, including:
- Offering a lighter bag that’s easier and safer to lift.
- Aligning our bag size to the rest of our range and industry standard.
- Supporting better workplace health and safety practices for our end-users, retail partners and employees.
2. Has Pryde’s reduced its price for these products?
Yes!
The price we sell these products to our direct customers, from our mill in Gunnedah, has been reduced by 20%, in line with the new bag size. We have maintained the same price per kilogram for our direct customers. Pryde’s is a manufacturer and doesn’t sell feed direct to the public or set retail prices, so please check with your local store for their retail price for the new bag. As you know, the price for any feed (including ours) can and does vary from store to store.
3. As a horse owner how is this going to help me?
By making the Pryde’s bags 20 kg and in line with other equine feeds, you will be able to easily compare quality, feeding rates and price between brands in store. We believe the Pryde’s range has always offered great quality at a fair price, and this will help you to make informed choices.
4. Is the product and formula the same?
Yes, nothing has changed inside the bag.
- Same set recipe formulation
- Same quality ingredients
- Same equine dedicated Pryde’s mill in Gunnedah
5. When will I start to see the new 20 kg bags in stores?
With the phasing out of the 25 kg bags you should start to see some of the new 20 kg bags in stores during March and April. The new bags are easily identified with a NEW 20 KG BAG sticker on them, so look out and pick one up when you are next in your local store.
6. Have the number of bags on a pallet changed?
Yes, there are now fifty (50) bags on a pallet equalling 1 ton of feed. Previously there was forty (40) bags equalling 1 ton.
