Special care and management considerations of your horses:
I believe in allowing horses to be horses and spend as much time as possible in their paddocks, not always stabled. I also spell them as much as possible so they stay fresh and enjoy their work. Matching feed and work load is vital to the horses' health and performance. Pryde's feeds make this very easy to monitor and adjust as required.
Name the most influential person in your riding career and why:
Richard Harman - he established my early understanding of riding and training methods
Special highlights in your riding career:
1990 Young rider of the year.
First World Cup placing which was in the Sale World Cup 2002.
Winning the Victorian Championships in 2012 with Animate
Describe your first pony:
Tiny - 8.2hh Shetland bought for me when I was two years old.
Describe your riding history:
I started riding when I was two, attended Pony Club until sixteen and then started competing in EA Showjumping. I became a full time performance horse trainer and coach in 2004.
Other hobbies/interests:
Snow skiing and water skiing.
Other animals:
Tigger a Wolfhound / Great Dane cross who loves to steal the horses' Pryde's feed!
What are your ambitions?
To ride at the highest level nationally and internationally
What do you require from your horses feed?
Cool responsive energy
Balanced minerals and vitamins
Energy for work, without excess calories
Coat Condition
Which Pryde's feeds do you use and why do you like them?
I use Pryde's Biomare, EasiResult and Easisport. I find they are all great balanced feeds and feed each depending on the individual horses energy levels and condition required. They are complete all in one feeds which have my horses looking fantastic and performing at their best. Biomare is great for the horses who struggle to keep condition on, especially with all the travelling to shows. EasiResult we use to increase the energy levels of our horses who need it and EasiSport is great for the ones with lots of natural energy.
Have you trained or coached any riders who have had success?
I teach riders of all ages from beginners to advanced. One of my students Jamie Ellis is a current member of the National Young Rider Squad.
How will Pryde's sponsorship make a difference to you?
Pryde's feeds consistently keep my horses very well conditioned and make feeding a very time efficient and simple process. Pryde's also provide a fantastic support team with such a great depth of knowledge. They have an extensive range that can be tailored to you and your horses' requirements.
What do you think you can do to make a difference for Pryde's?
My team of show jumping horses are renowned for being turned out immaculately and are always competitive at the major shows throughout Australia. At competitions and when teaching I always use the Pryde's clothing, saddle blankets and rugs so spectators and other competitors know how I get my horses looking and feeling as good as they do.
