Is your area a noted horse district? If so give details:
I live at Brookleigh Equestrian Estate when I am in Perth. It is located in the Swan Valley and it is a very ‘horsey’ area. The family farm is in the South West of the state in Donnybrook. It is a farming district known more for it’s Apple Growing Industry.
Special care and management considerations of your horse(s):
I require my horses to have enough energy and Power yet not become hot and fizzy and also maintain a good healthy weight.
Name the most influential person in your riding career and why:
I have a few, my Dad, he never said I couldn’t do something, I just had to work my butt of to prove I could, my first coach Karen Spice who really introduced me to dressage, I will never forget that first feeling of half pass and piaffe. Roz Tippet who helped me believe I could do anything as good as anyone else and now Rozzie Ryan because she is simply amazing as a rider and coach.
Describe your first pony:
A very naughty, cheeky 10.3hh Pinto Australian Pony named Arden Vale Tiny Tonka (Tonka Toy) Every time he cantered he would buck me off! And then he would be so stubborn he would only go if he was following someone!
Describe your most embarrassing (horse related) moment, if any:
Falling off in the Show Ring in a rider class, only to get back on and place 3rd, and yes there were more than 3 people in the class!!
Do you have any 'other' animals?
I have a dog named Grover who is a golden retriever and a cat called Schnappy
What are your ambitions?
To win gold for Australia at the Paralympics and to compete in open dressage at Grand Prix.
What do you require from your horse feed?
An excellent quality product made from the best ingredients that my horses love to eat and that is easy to feed.
2010 - Winning 2 Bronze Medals at the World Equestrian Games in Kentucky.
2008 - Representing Australia at Beijing Paralympics and placing 4th
Representing WA at the EA Show Horse Nationals in the Senior Rider Class (first Para rider to do this)
Eventing at Preliminary Level and placing amongst the able bodied riders (Something I never imagined I could)
