Name the most influential person in your riding career and why:
Ian Francis because of his motivation and drive to keep pushing the boundaries and his exceptional talent as an ALL ROUND horseman.
Mark Buttsworth for his determination and horsemanship.
Describe your riding history:
Broke in my first horse at 12 with Hurley Toomey (Kingaroy, QLD). Been contract breaking for the past 10 years in NT and QLD. Broken in over 1500 horses to date. Now training own Campdraft horses for our own business as well as outside clients.
Special highlight(s) in your riding career:
To see my own team of horses consistantly finaling and placing at drafts across Australia. Also to get the opportunity to train outside horses so that others can enjoy the sport of Campdrafting.
What are your ambitions?
To train and show horses at the Tamworth Futurity and to see more than one of my horses in the line up of the Warwick Gold Cup.
Have you trained or coached any riders who have had success?
Many of my students at my colt starting schools have successfully started and trained their own horses for a range of disciplines.
Special care and management considerations of your horse(s):
Nutrition is a huge focus especially as "Riverboyne Performance Horses" operates in both QLD and NT, therefore nutritional demands vary. As do the demands of my breakers and competition horses.
Which Pryde's feeds do you use and why do you like them?
I like EasiRide for the breakers and the EasiResult for competition horses. Rebuild is a great little weapon for building condition and topline prior to a show/sale.
How will Pryde's Sponsorship make a difference to you?
The huge range of products will allow us to target the individual nutrition requirements of our competition horses and provide low-fuss, economical rations for the breakers in a way that is "cooling" rather than "heating".
What do you think you can do to make a difference for Pryde's?
The range disciplines myself and my family do will ensure exposure for Pryde's across a range of markets including Campdrafting, Challenging, Dressage (my wife) and Showing.
Horses are what we do for a living so we will wear Pryde's Logo everywhere!!
